Mage is one of the classes in World of Warcraft. There are several kinds of mages in the game, Arcane mage, Fire mage, and Frost mage. Here is a general WOW mage leveling guide for these different mages.

Arcane Mage

Arcane mage is powerful in combat. They can deal high damage and nearly shoot them off as fast as any hunter with spells. They can volley their opponents continually with attacks and stop them from cast spells. Arcane Barrage can cause high damage at a 40 yard range and 4 second cool down at the same time. Arcane missile is an ability which can be used more often and have a passive skills called Arcane Specialization to increase damage by 25%. Improved Arcane Missiles can increase the number of missiles fired off by 1 to up surge the damage as well.

When fighting melee opponents, Arcane mages can use Frostbolt, Arcane Barrage, Fire Blast, Arcane Missiles or Frostbolt, and Arcane Barrage. Arcane Missiles, Frostbolt and Arcane Barrage are the key to kill the opponents. When fighting range opponents, you can use Arcane Barrage, Arcane Missiles or Fire ball.

Fire Mage

Fire mage is powerful in attacks, but their cast is slow. It has an ability called Pyroblast, which needs 5 second to cast a spell but can cause a really huge Fire damage with 12 second lasting dot causing above half of the initial damage. Although 5 seconds is too long, but Fire mages have a talent called Burning Soul to reduce 70% of the casting time lost from taking damaging attacks. Fireball and Fireblast can help mages a lot as well. They can do a lot of damage and increase the damage by 25% from the passive ability called Fire Specialization.

When fighting melee opponents, fire mages can use Pyroblast, Fire Blast, and Fireball x3. Fire Blast and Fireball x3 is the key to kill opponents. Frost Nova is important to trap opponents when they are close, and Cone of Cold can slow them as well. When fighting range opponents, Pyroblast and Fireball are the best. You can use fireball to spam until your opponents get killed.

Frost Mage

Frost mage is good at crowd control. It can slow down and freeze opponents easily at both long and short ranges at just level 19. Summon Water Elemental is a good spell for them to get a Water Elemental pet to fight for them without WOW gold. The elemental can do a 2.5 second cast spell to do minimal damage at an extremely long range. What’s more, it can blast enemies within an 8 yard radius and freeze them for up to 8 seconds causing a reasonable amount of damage at the same time. This ability is extremely useful in PVP.

When fighting melee opponents, Frostbolt and Freeze are useful. What’s more, you can use Frostbolt spam until the opponent dies. When fighting range opponents, you can also do the Frostbolt spam.
