Herbalism is one of professions in World of Warcraft which is great even for the smarty pants Mage or the stout, sturdy and rude Warrior. In matter of fact, Herbalism is very easy to learn and players can benefits from it even if you don’t take a secondary profession. Like other professions, players can get WoW currency (copper, silver and WoW gold), exclusive items and equipments from it. Therefore, Herbalism goes great with every class and is a primary source of income for many of the denizens of Azerorth.

Getting Started

First of all, if you hope to learn herbalism, you will want to find an Herbalist Trainer. And like real world, you should prepare some World of Warcraft gold before you decide to find him. If you are not newbie in WoW, you should know where to find herbalism trainers who are available in every major city and can be located by simply asking a guard. The trainer will teach you herbalism for a small fee and then every 50 – 75 skill points you’ll return to increase your rank from Apprentice all the way up to Grand Master. You can unlearn herbalism at anytime on your skills tab. Though if you drop it now and pick up later you will lose all of your skill points you’ve gained.

Skilling Up

Herbalism is a simple gathering profession. However, it doesn’t mean that you are going to good at gather WoW gold if you have learned herbalism. This means that you roam out into the wilds, find herbs, and then return to sell them on the Auction House. It is a little different meaning but players actually are able to get WoW money from Herbalism. Herbs are gathered by right clicking the herb on the ground and waiting until the gather skill finishes. Afterwards you’ll be given a random number of herbs (between 1-3 on average) and the herb will then disappear. Every time you gather an orange herb you’ll gain a skill point. You can tell an herb’s color by hovering over it with your mouse and it’ll display “Requires Herbalism,” which will be color coded based on your skill level and the skill level of the herb. Like other skills and abilities, different color is to stand for different skill level. Your level is higher, you are possible easy to get more World of Warcraft gold and other exclusive items from the Auction House etc. Yellow herbs will almost always give you a skill point and green herbs are very flakey. However, inscription uses herbs from all levels for various Glyphs. Lower level herbs are also less camped. Another factor is flying mounts. The faster you can gather then the faster you can get the herbs up on the market turning back into gold for you. It’s a big upfront investment though. So take that into mind when thinking about your flying mount options.
